Himalayan Young Monk School

Within Tibetan society moderniation started only half a century ago. The older generations were educated with the traditional culture, which was religiously biased. New generations educated throug the modern education pick up a different belief an dvalue system fromtheir elders. Curriculum they undertake in modern schools are designed by either Government of China, Nepal or India, except the situation in Bhutan. This brings serious difficulty both in the preservation of Tibetan culture and integration of traditional culture with modern knowledge. It is also an unavoidable fact that development of modern education poses a big gap between cities and remote areas, which causes dishoarmony in the Himalayan society.

Traditionally, young generation is admitted in monasteries for Buddhist study and philosophy in later stages. Dolpa is a rural village setting and proper education infrastructure is rare. DBSC has a plan to run a school for young monks and incorporate modern school curriculum as well.

This is the second objective of Dolpo Buddha Service Centre. The centre seeks financial help to run the school with adequate facilities for the students and teachers. This noble cause requires generous help from people who are willing to support us. Click here to support us.
